NHS & Private Eye examinations

The key to good vision is a regular eye examination. The NHS recommends that you visit an optometrist every two years (or more frequently if advised).

Our highly skilled Optometrists are primary health care specialists trained to examine the eyes to detect defects in vision, ocular diseases or abnormalities (such as glaucoma, cataracts and age related macular degeneration) and problems with general health which may affect the eye.

Following an examination of the eye, our Optometrists will make a diagnosis and offer advice, and when necessary refer patients for specialist medical treatment.

NHS Eligibility

You may be eligible to receive partial or full support for the cost of eye examinations. If you require spectacles then a voucher can be issued against the cost of your glasses.

The NHS do place certain restrictions on the frequency of sight tests and the issuing of vouchers: please ask for advice before booking an appointment.
